Make Your Master Bedroom Right For You
It is important when you are decorating your master bedroom that you keep a few things in mind. You need to pick one particular theme and stick with it. You also need to make sure that the colors that you choose coordinate well. You should also decide if you have enough storage space in your master bedroom.
When choosing a theme, go with something that reflects who you are. If you love everything Oriental then you might want to go with an Asian themed master bedroom. If you enjoy traveling around the world then maybe you should consider a theme with globes, maps and suitcases. Maybe you have simpler tastes such as flowers or animals? Your master suite should be about you and the things that you love. Don't be afraid to let your imagination run a little wild.
Often times in the paint department at your local hardware store you will find a verity of color pallets. Pick one that you really love. Remember you will be looking at this color every day! You may want to pick a paint color that matches one of the accent colors in your rug. Or perhaps there is a color in your bedspread that you are particularly fond of. Picking up one or two accent colors can really make your room stand out.
You don't have to use colors only for the walls or the furniture. You can do too for the window treatment, beddings, area rug and pillow covers.
Storage is important in the master bedroom because this is where we keep most of our things. Make your bedroom as neat and orderly. The less clutter, the better. I'm not so much into clothes so I don't really need a walk-in closet. But I do have lots of drawers and decorative boxes for storing souvenir items and mostly presents that I use as displays. Because I'm not a big decorator, I choose a few to place on top of the dresser and on the bedside tables, then just change them every once in a while so all get equal exposure.
You master bedroom should feel like your own personal paradise. It should be a place where you can get away from it all and unwind from a rough day on the job. Remember to make it all about you and the things that you love!
The important thing to consider is comfort. Your bedroom is a place for relaxation and rest. Forget the parties or the meals. This time, it's all about sleeping, naps and respite from the hectic life outside. And if you have someone to share the room with, your own romantic haven.
